Dear Mom & Dad;
Howdy People! Guess what? We had better chow today. The CO must have got after them.
Well instead of playing football we played Volley Ball. After a while, the Capt. and top sargent played with us. We had a lot of fun. We get Saturday afternoon and Sunday off. We have a game scheduled already.
I’m not so sore now. My boots are the only thing that hurts. I’m going to have to wash tomorrow sometime. We will have our barracks inspected tomorrow morning.
We were showed the M-1 + Carbine rifles today. They are pretty nice guns.
We had a
G.I. party tonite. A G.I. party is sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, and fixing bunks in our rooms. We have to sweep & mop every morning to.
It sure has been cold here. Soon I will be able to wear the longies they issued me. California sunshine ha. We couldn’t see over 100 yards all day. The fog kept the porchs & roofs wet all day
Well you people be good
P.S. Are you saving any money since I left?
